Solace is a poetic tale of loss and redemption. With sparse dialogue, and
only three characters, the production will focus on cinematography, acting,
and sound, shooting almost exclusively at night and during magic hours in the
most breathtaking locations known to the south-western United States --
California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Baja.
The picture will be a first-of-its-kind hybrid between non-narrative films such
as Baraka and narrative cinematography masterpieces like Days of Heaven
and The New World, which seek to restore image to its proper place at the
apex of cinema. Adding to its uniqueness, The Lost Year will incorportate
30-40 advanced motion-control timelapse sequences, woven into the story.
